Actions speak louder than words

I have now received two calls from ASHRAE to renew my membership.  This is exactly 0/2 times as many times of responses I’ve received to my two requests to their tech supp9ort with regard to me being unable to access their online content.  And speaking of shitty tech support and misplaced priorities, it is unnerving how access to information is increasingly being locked away behind monthly memberships and all the bullshit associated with that.  Neither IIAR nor ASHRAE provide their content as PDFs anymore.  According to IIAR they did away with the PDFs so that they could make more money.  I appreciate the candor.  With that being said, if I get shitty support for the said content what are my options?  Go to competing IIARs or ASHRAEs?  Negative, Batman.  They and organizations similar to them have a lock on the “standards” racket.

And who gets screwed?  You guessed it.  The handsome person in the mirror.
